Tithes

In the Old Testament, the Israelites paid tithes (one tenth) of their increase to the Levites. The Levites were dedicated to taking care of the priestly duties and would live off of these tithes as well as distribute the rest of the tithes as necessary.

In the New Testament, tithing is not strictly taught, but we continue to model after what God originally set in place in order to take care of His church today.

Malachi 3:10  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

1 Corinthians 16:1-3  Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.  (2)  Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.  (3)  And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

Offerings

We believe God has challenged us to be irrationally generous with our finances. We have continually seen how God has blessed those who are faithful and giving. We cannot out-give God, but I dare you to try.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7  But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.  (7)  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Romans 12:8  . . . he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity. . .

Building Fund

Because of your generosity, we have already been able to renovate the inside of the church. This includes updated bathrooms, replaced flooring, replaced light fixtures, and a completely new interior paint job. We have also been able to replace an old microphone system, and we have big plans for the future! It is such a big blessing to be able to improve the house of God, and while salvation isn’t dependent on people’s impressions of a building and sound quality, it is very important to bring people into a beautiful place to worship and fellowship and provide a quality service.
